The Indianapolis Liederkranz is an all-male singing society. So, what is a women’s choir doing here?
The Ladies Auxiliary has been very involved at the Indianapolis Liederkranz since its inception. A lot of the ladies, in addition to their cooking and hostessing prowess, had singing talent and wanted to form a choir. So, in 1997, the Indianapolis Liederkranz Damenchor was formed under the direction of Loesje Chandler.
We perform our own concerts in the spring and fall and we join the men in December for the Weihnachtskonzert.
Rehearsals are weekly on Wednesday at 7:15 pm with a break from mid-May through Labor Day.
Don’t worry… you do not have to speak German to sing with us! We will teach you what you need to know.
